Rationale for Rating:

The studies conducted by the developers showed positive outcomes, but these studies were conducted from 2003 - 2007 and published in 2004 and 2010, respectively. More recent studies of gambling prevention programs for youth referenced the same 2004 and 2010 articles. A program evaluation was conducted in 2023 by the North Carolina Problem Gambling Program with middle and high school-aged youth throughout the state and showed positive outcomes. The outcomes suggest that more research is needed for this program to determine its efficacy at preventing problem gambling that incorporates current gambling availability/options with today’s youth and adolescents.
