There is not enough research to provide a conclusive review. The program’s main website states that it’s suitable for a variety of substance use disorders—alcohol, nicotine, cocaine, and etc., however most, if not all, of the research found only pertained to alcohol abuse/use. Some research showed PFL having little to no effect in reducing alcohol consumption. However, some research suggests that PFL has a promising, yet minimal effect when being used as a preventative method. To provide a more accurate rating, more sufficient data/research is needed.
